electronic paper

Electronic paper was first developed in the 1970s by Nick Sheridon at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Centre in the US.
Called Gyricon, it had the same properties as paper: it was flexible, contained an image, and viewable from a wide angle, but it could be erased and written thousands of times.
